Women play a pivotal role in conservation globally and their voices and influence are fundamental in meeting the interconnected climate, biodiversity, and human wellbeing crises we face today. It is essential that women leading in nature possess agency, access to networks, and opportunities to succeed and thrive throughout their entire careers. Â
In partnership with Re:wild, a global organisation that protects and restores the wild, Women Emerging ran an online group expedition with 23 explorers from across Re:wild’s global partner community to reframe their own approach to leading. The explorers were diverse in terms of experience, geography and demographics (i.e. faith, generation, role). Â
Women Emerging Founder, Julia Middleton was leading this expedition, with Kagiso Onkabetse as the Community Manager. Explorers continue to share their insights and reflections on the WE Hub, so that it can inspire women leading in conservation, wherever and whoever they are.
