Leadership is challenging, but for women who pursue and achieve it, the journey is deeply rewarding.
For a long time, I believed men and women had equal opportunities in the corporate world and entrepreneurship. Over time, I realised that while opportunities may seem equal, the journey for women is different, it calls for a unique blend of strength, skill, and resilience.

I’m Shveta Bakshi, with over 20 years of experience in marketing and a proud mom of two daughters. I’ve always valued growth, self-belief, and purpose over comfort. Reflecting on my journey, here are four skills that have shaped my leadership and may shape yours too:

  1. Visibility – Make yourself known. Join communities, connect with people, and let your presence be felt. Visibility brings opportunities.
  2. Networking – Build authentic relationships beyond your team. A strong network opens doors and creates allies.
  3. Articulation – Speak with clarity and confidence. Express your ideas, have a point of view, and prepare well.
  4. Resilience – Make resilience your superpower. Learn from setbacks. Use tools like journaling, meditation, or exercise — whatever centers you.

Above all, believe in yourself. The future is bright, and the world needs your leadership now more than ever.
