Mentor or ally?
You may not be doing what you think you’re doing.
We use “mentor” and “ally” almost interchangeably: in programmes, in job descriptions, and in the advice we give each other. But these roles ask different things of a person, and confusing them is part of why so many well-intentioned efforts stall.
This live podcast brings host Julia Middleton together with Amanda Gethin for a conversation about what allyship and mentorship actually require in practice: where they overlap, where they pull apart, and what it looks like to do both well, at any level, without a title to back you up.
The second half opens the floor for 30 minutes of live audience Q&A, so this is as much a working session as it is a conversation to listen to.
