In the part 2 episode of The Context in Which We Lead, Julia welcomes Leila and Nichol to further shift the focus on how emerging technologies and financial systems shape the context for leadership. Following last week’s exploration of climate change and geopolitics, this episode delves into artificial intelligence and global financial systems.
“Today in the world, we’re facing many challenges from climate change and poverty to displacement and social injustice. And in that context, innovation is critical to helping us tackle these issues. AI, no doubt, is one of the most powerful technologies of our time.”
As the relevance of AI as a transformative force in addressing global challenges becomes the focus of this episode, Leila and Nichol begin by discussing the potential of AI and how it is influencing leadership decisions across industries. They reflect on the balance leaders must strike between innovation and ethical responsibility. Julie concludes the discussion by addressing her blind spot: how the financial systems of the world are evolving and what leaders need to know to navigate this complex terrain.
This episode encourages listeners to consider how technology and finance intersect with leadership and how leaders can prepare to adapt to rapid, systemic changes.
