Women Leading in Business in Pakistan

This expedition had 24 women join from across Pakistan, all representing major corporate organisations in the country including Ismail Industries, Karachi Electric, Faysal Funds, Pathfinder, Tapal, SLB, PSO and PARCO. The expedition took place between April - November 2024, with explorers meeting online for 4 hours a month. The expedition commenced with an in-person event and concluded with an in-person retreat, both in Karachi.

Dr Ayesha Mian, founder and CEO of Synapse as well as an explorer on the very first Women Emerging expedition led the expedition, supported by Zoya Matin as the Community Manager. Women Emerging partnered with Human Resource Solution International, HRSI, and Synapse, to deliver this expedition.

This expedition focused on helping the explorers to:

-Find their own approach to leading

-Drive responsive change in their organisation and community

-Influence society by instilling a contextual and respectful approach to leading?

-Become part of a global and diverse community of women leaders

Explorers are still connected with Women Emerging, contributing often to the website through blogs and podcast episodes. Currently, Women Emerging is using the learnings and outcomes of this expedition to put together the first themed solo expedition which will be for Women in Business in Pakistan.
