In the fast moving corporate world, it can be easy to keep pushing without noticing how much energy each day takes. As a woman in leadership, I have learned to pause with intention. A short moment of stillness, even if it is just a few minutes of mindful breathing, gives me clarity and strengthens the way I show up for my team.

I also try to work in alignment with my natural pace. Some hours are ideal for deeper thinking, while others suit lighter coordination or conversations. Respecting these rhythms helps me stay effective without draining myself. It makes leadership feel more balanced and purposeful.

Community has become another anchor. Reaching out to trusted colleagues, sharing honest reflections and asking for support when needed has helped me stay grounded. It reminds me that leadership is a collective effort, not an isolated journey.

How are you nurturing balance in the spaces where you lead?

You must be reading my mind. I have been thinking more and more about rhythms and balance. But more importantly for me, I am learning to reach out and ask questions. As a friend of mine would always say, shame is such an under-explored emotion. Instead of always acting tough or always trying to figure it all out by myself, I am now learning to “drop quick messages” and simply ask questions. It makes me uncomfortable but isn’t discomfort part of leading?
